Spring Love Feast & Holy Communion - May 6, 2018 at 5:30 p.m - In the Gathering Palce at Bermudian COB
"This Day Is Unlike All Others?" The Love Feast is one of the most distinctive practices of the Church of the Brthren. It is a service of worship held in obedience to the teaching of Jesus. In deeply moving spiritual reverence we eat and drink the bread and wine (symbols of Christ's broken body and spilled blood) in remembrance of Him, and as symbols of His new covenant.
Jesus Christ gave a new commandment, 'that you love one another.' That is why we call this a "love feast" or agape meal, to use the Greek term.
For the Brethren, the towel and basin are regarded as important symbols of the Christian life of love and service.
